At the end of last year I was privileged to be able to travel for Marizanne and Chris’s magical wedding in the beautiful landscape of the Free State. With their “sprokies verhaal troue” at Olie Ranch, we truly had a warm and wonderful day and gorgeous weather! Not to mention a beautiful bride and beautiful wedding venue and decor!

a Love Story

Chris was new to Bloemfontein, and still struggling to adjust. After a few weeks he decided to go and visit his original howetown, Christiana, but his mother forbid him to (trying to help force him to make friends and get out in his new home), but instead, told him to attend a singing camp – which went to Colesberg to meet new people (doing something he loved to do at the same time – sing). With this mutual interest/hobby, Chris and Marizanne met and had lots of fun together, and Marizanne was the perfect distraction to help Chris adjust to city life.

The Proposal

On Holiday in Hartenbos, the December of 2015, Chris woke Marizanne up very early one morning, telling her he wanted to take some photos of them together hile the sun came up – what beautiful sunrise photos it would make… With a bit of moaning, and a big struggle, they made it to the main beach, and after taking a few photos, Chris bent down on one knee and asked Marizanne to spend the rest of their lives together. Marizanne said “yes” without any hestitation, and they both were so overjoyed at the perfect moment, they celebrated with tears of joy, while drinking champagne at six in the morning!

The Wedding dress

From a very young age Marizanne dreamed of being a bride… and that means there has been a lot of thought into her perfect dress! And being rather a very “girly-girl,” she had been collecting ideas for years already. When the actual dress planning for the decided day, she just needed to narrow down the details of 3 of her favourite ideas, and they all came together to form Marizanne’s perfect fairytale dress.

The Bridesmaids Dresses

The Bridesmaids dresses came from an idea Marizanne saw in a book whilst at the material shop… and she instantly knew what she wanted for her bridesmaids. And being blessed with a very creative and talented mother, she left it in her mom’s seamstress hands to make them a reality.

I LOVE… {Real Weddings have Real Feelings}

Chris: I “LOVE” the fact that Marianne chose ME, and loves me for who I am. She dreams with me, and she loves God. AND She is absolutely STUNNING and GORGEOUS!

Marizanne: I adore the respect that Chris has for himself, but most of all for ME! Chris is a clown, and makes any day perfect, by making me laugh! Chris is a fierce child of God, and I love that we can share this together. AND he is very handsome of course 🙂 My very own prince charming.
