“Botha Bruilofsfees”

a beautiful story of a wonderful couple, their beautiful wedding day forever captured and told by pretoria wedding photographer Appelliefie Art

Marsy and Barend – as most of his friends and family know him as Stoffie 🙂 – truly had a beautiful wedding day! it was perfect, the dress, wow! the flowers: beautiful! the bride and groom: stunning*… so to share this wedding day post with you is so special for me, as it truly was a dream wedding day for any photographer, { Stoffie en Marsy: dankie dat julle my werk so mukluk gemaak het } <3 so I hope you enjoy their story as much as I did

a Love Story

Marsy and Stoffie met each other while still in school, back when they were were only 12 years old (in grade 4 at the time)….{Wow, and what the future held instore for them they couldn’t even imagine!} They started going out, and then Stoffie moved away, but this did not stop them! Through out school, they kept in contact. And after school they decided to date (again.. continued) and: 12 years later… they definitely know they are meant for each.

The Proposal

Stoffie planned it so well… and kept everything a surprise! The couple was traveling to Parys in December of 2015, for the saddle horse show {the groom is all about horses, and this we see beautifully where they got ready for the wedding) and had previously seen a place they had wanted to stop at; a nice restaurant/accommodation, earlier in the year but not gotten a chance to. And so Stoffie suggested that they go and have lunch there. He had arranged a special “booth” where he then proposed and they enjoyed (to say the least 🙂 a lovely meal. Afterward lunch they went on the Vaal River for a boat cruise and spend the night there, as well as a wonderful celebratory dinner at the beautiful Pont de Val.

The Wedding dress

Marsy’s bridal dress story starts off with heartache… but turns into the most beautiful dress ever! To name it “runaway dress” doesn’t tell 1/2 the story, but lets not dwell there, RATHER on the gorgeous gown she stunned everyone with*

Marsy had a lot of trouble with her dress at first, and so was forced to make one. Luckily (and saving the day) Marsy’s Mum knew a lady in Kimberley that makes gorgeous dresses. And to say the least, she was contacted quickly. And with less than 6 weeks to go until the wedding day, Marsy rushed to the dress-maker’s for measurements, got fabric, and with all the hustle and bustle {and a bit of nerves with the pressure of little time left till the big day} created so much excitement for the bridal party and family.

The Bridesmaids Dresses

The Maid of Honor is from Cape Town, and the bridesmaid was in Holland at that time, so a day that fitted both of them was scheduled, where shopping at YDE was the destination*

I LOVE… {Real Weddings have Real Feelings}

Their favorite thing about each other: “The fact that we are best friends since forever and when we are with each other its home, no matter where we are.”
